A Black and Decker food processing unit is known for its durability and dependability. However, like any appliance, it needs attention and care to ensure optimal performance and long life span. In most instances, if a black and Decker food processor isn’t functioning, the main reason is either an electrical fault or an inconsistent power source, but in some cases mechanical damage also causes a loss of power supply. In this case, first of all you have to check that your black and Decker food processor are properly connected to a constant power source.
To fix an electrical problem – remove the battery from your black and Decker food processor and plug it into a common wall outlet first. If you’re using a standard 110-volt power source, unplug the appliance and then plug it into a battery that’s specifically designed for your brand of food preparation device. Then, use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screws that secure the black and Decker blades in the food processing jar. You may need to use both hands to do this task as it may be difficult for you to reach the underside of the blades.
Now, open the black and Decker chopper – (it should be labeled with the words “black and Decker” and it should be located on the right side of the bowl) and remove the blades from the container. Wash these blades carefully with a sponge and a clean rag. For the blades that are attached to the wooden box, use a non-abrasive sponge and a clean rag to clean them as well. Once you’ve removed all the debris from these blades, place all of them in one of the wooden boxes. Attach the wooden box’s hinge and secure it to the metal frame of the food processing jug by tightening the screws.
Connect the blades to their corresponding connectors – on the back of the processor and set your food processors on the “powers” setting. Turn your KitchenAid processor on and give it a couple of minutes to start grinding the coffee. When the grinding is complete, disconnect the connection and put the black and Decker into the dishwasher. Use the rinse cycle to wash away any excess beans and then close the lid. Let the coffee maker sit for at least two hours before you run another fresh cycle.
If you own an eight-cup bowl – you can also purchase a pulse control. Some models of the Black and Decker Pulse System can be purchased with a cord, but most models use an electrical plug that plugs into an outlet. To purchase a cordless model, check out some of the many online appliance stores that carry appliances such as the Black and Decker Coffee Brewer, Coffee Grinder, Cappuccino and World Profile Coffee Maker.
While the product manual states – that this appliance comes with a four-year limited warranty, it does not indicate a time frame for replacement parts or service. It is best to find a local replacement parts dealer who sells Black and Decker parts.
It may be worth the money to invest in a more expensive warranty from the manufacturer, but it will be worth it in the long run. The parts will last longer and your Black and Decker Food Processor will last longer, too.
